My galaxy s6 was damn good, used ones should be close to that . If not get the cheapest iPhone available.

Dont get the cheapest brand n ew whatever. They normally are junk

First Gen Pixels, HTC M8 were  flagship spec and aluminum bodied (plenty of survivors) and are averaging $40 on eBay. Bonus is stereo front firing speakers.

Get a used motorola - something like a G5 or G5s, you can usually pick one up on ebay for $60-70 if you’re patient.
